PLANT EVIDENCE
On each continent today, there are similar species of plants and the same type of species of fossils found which indicates which continent was connected with another in the time of Pangaea. In the southern continent, Gondwanaland(the southern part of Pangaea when it started to break apart) , South America and Africa were connected with each other as well as Antarctica, India, and Australia. When this happened it is around about the time when the first plants began to appear on earth. There are three families of cycads, the Cycadaceae, Stangeriaceae and Zamiaceae. These three species are scattered all over the world. They managed to spread to Australia, South Africa, Malaysia and the Americas. The large, round seeds are dispersed at short distances they were moved along further by animals feeding on the plants. These plants are found on all continents of the world and the same species found closely to one another on multiple continents such as South America and Africa.
